INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
6.5 hours/day
Candidates for this position must be Highly Qualified through one of the following:
- Have obtained an Associate's degree, or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
- Completed a minimum of 48 college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
- Passed the ParaPro assessment with a minimum score of 455. Documentation of test score must be submitted.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is paraprofessional work that requires the teacher assistant to assist the classroom teacher in performing a variety of tasks after training, i.e., emergency plans, health-related plans/services, and carrying out instructional procedures. This position performs work under the direct supervision of the teacher, building administrator, and/or appropriate Special Education Department administrator.
