This position will be a member of the data analytics engineering department, responsible for database and data warehouse design in SQL Server, ensuring data is aligned from multiple source systems into our data warehousing environment, and the creation of data analytics solutions using Power BI.
Key Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Solution implementation: Manage multiple data projects, identifying business and operational needs, prioritizing, removing barriers, and demonstrating adaptability and embracing continuous learning.
- Build and test end -to-end BI solutions for operational demand, strategic KPIs and dashboards, and broad open-ended analytics. Participates in the collection and analysis of business and functional requirements and translates these requirements into robust, scalable, and operable solutions.
- Development, testing, and support: Implement analytics solutions using agile methodologies, data modelling and management tools, practices, and documentation. Work with business teams to ensure we maintain a suite of legacy solutions, including working with business teams to prioritize, manage, and resolve operational demand.
- Operational Support: Assist with support of existing operational and legacy reports and analytic environments. Documents new and existing architecture, data models, solutions, and implementations.
Necessary Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of multidimensional/tabular and relational databases, data warehousing, and data modeling.
- Ability to own projects and work independently with minimum or no supervision.
- High degree of computer literacy and complex technical problem-solving ability – in-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages and application integration techniques, and proficiency in computing infrastructure (networks, servers, databases, etc.).
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business strategies and communicate effectively with different organization personnel.
- Strong knowledge of modern agile software development methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- Strong knowledge of complex application, integration, and data architectures.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communications skills.
- Sound time management skills to be able to deliver on multiple complex architectural initiatives at the same time, with proficiency in planning and organizing the technical aspects of a project.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND and/or EXPERIENCE.
- BS Computer Science, Information Systems or at least 3 years hands-on experience in business intelligence and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience in architecture, analysis, design and development of enterprise business intelligence solutions and data integration
- Advanced experience in ETL/ELT, SSAS Cubes, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Data Integration
- Experience with Power BI, SQL Server, Azure Data Factories, Databricks and Azure Synapse environments
- Certified Microsoft Data Engineer (helpful)
