Job Description:
Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Estimator to join this dynamic team in Houston TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of heavy civil projects including highways, bridges, tunnels, and large-scale infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure all aspects of the project are accurately estimated.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare detailed and organized estimates.
- Review and incorporate historical data from past projects to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Present and explain estimates to project stakeholders, including clients, management, and other team members.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure projects stay within estimated costs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and changes in construction methods and materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
