POSITION SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate for this role must be able to quickly produce quality product with minimal support.
The position is primarily responsible for programming, selecting proper tooling, implementing effective machining strategies, and insuring effective in-process inspection techniques are implemented guaranteeing Customer Requirements and production commitments are met.
The position will work directly with other members of our Production Team and Quality personnel. This position will include regular Machine Set-up and Operating.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Proficient in Blue-Print reading & GD&T application.
- Proficient in MasterCam and File organization.
- Proficient in Tool selection (Raw Material knowledge).
- Proficient in creating Set-up & Tool lists, and other order relating documents (Excel & Word).
- Ability to critically assess Blue Prints and apply effective manufacturing and appropriate inspection techniques to meet Customer Requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate and uphold priorities to operators.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a set-up role is required, 5+ years of experience is preferred.
- Able to apply and uphold Preventative Machine Maintenance standards.
- Team Oriented (able to communicate flow-downs and work well in a diverse environment).
- Must be able to multitask with high attention to detail.
NATURE OF WORK:
- Parts will vary widely in material, complexity, and tolerance requirements.
- Jobs will require ability to work in both new products and production rate environments.
- Operations are controlled using Centerpoint’s Traveler & Quality Management System (AS9100).
- High attention to details including customer requirements is demanded on a constant basis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work day shift and available for overtime as well as weekends if needed.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
- Must be able to handle items weighing up to 25lbs (unassisted).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 80 – 90 per week
