MOLDING AUTOMATION ENGINEER - 1st Shift
This is an on-site and hands-on position in a collaborative team environment with a 46-year old company in it's 2nd generation of leadership & growth.
Compensation is commensurate with skill level and experience.
Target Responsibilities:
- Conceive, develop, and carry out automation projects to improve quality and increase yields, while reducing operating costs and downtime.
- Manage the integration of robotics, EOAT, cameras, sensors, and related automation technologies with our injection molding machines and assembly processes.
- Introduce, design, and implement innovative new technologies into the manufacturing process to support the in-house needs of production and processing engineers.
- Source, evaluate, qualify, test, install, and troubleshoot purchased equipment.
- Modify or integrate existing equipment in order to improve processes in a manner consistent with our business needs
- Create quality work instructions
Qualifications:
- 3 years of automation experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally with plastic injection molding)
- Background in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or Industrial Engineering (Bachelor's degree in any of these disciplines is a plus)

- Designing and building of EOAT
- Machine building capabilities
- Problem-solving skills
- Accomplished at need analysis, addressing issues, and meeting deadlines
- History of maintaining skills via training opportunities
- Above-average oral and written communication skills
- Punctual and disciplined, so as to be a strong role model
- A good listener, open to new ideas and innovation from all around
- Comfortable working with teams as well as with minimal immediate supervision
- Previous technical experience at Cognex, Keyence, Yushin, or other similar organizations, a plus
- PLC Programming, including S5 and S7 logic, a plus
- Experience with vision systems a plus
- Knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma tools, a plus
