Position Summary
We’re currently seeking full-time or part-time, physical therapy assistant, for our growing practice. This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and occupational therapists providing comprehensive care. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our orthopedic surgeons and to observe surgery. Our therapists provide strong manual therapy skills including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization with cupping, dry needling and functional exercises to optimize patient outcomes.
The position will primarily be in the Torrington office, and may include occasional coverage in our Bristol location. Hours are flexible and may include some evenings. Preferred candidates will bring orthopedic and sports medicine experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities for the Physical Therapy Assistant
- Follows through with established treatment plan based on the physical therapist's evaluation results.
- Monitors patient response to treatment and informs the physical therapist of any changes
- Communicate with physical therapist and rehabilitation director on a consistent and ongoing basis to maximize office efficiency and minimize problem areas
- Develops and instructs patient and caregiver in home exercise programs and/or use of recommended equipment; provides verbal and/or written instructions as indicated.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops, journal clubs, peer reviews, and reviewing professional publications.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
- Complete chart audits on a bimonthly basis.
- Communicate with physicians on an ongoing basis regarding patient care and progress.
Qualifications for Physical Therapist
- A valid Physical Therapy Assistant degree from a US accredited program
- Maintain current Basic Life Support Certification with AED.
- Maintain current physical therapy assistant licensure for State of Connecticut
