Harris County Emergency Services District No. 46 (HCESD No. 46) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Logistics Manager- EMS Supplilies. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
Job Summary
The EMS Supply Manager is responsible for the day to day control of all supplies and gases for the Atascocita Fire Department (AFD). This position is responsible for the continuity, quality, and integrity of supplies and equipment utilized by the AFD. This position reports to the Assistant Chief of EMS.
Work Location and Schedule
The position’s primary work location is the Atascocita Fire Department Headquarters, but travel may be required, and extensive at times, for field service, deployed asset service, training, and specification meetings, etc... The position generally follows standard business hours, but may be allowed to work flexible hours or required to work shift work, extended shifts, or weekends, on occasions. Position also requires being subject to stand-by, call-out, and disaster recalls.
Compensation Package
- $60,000 per year

Entry Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Texas Driver’s Class C License and be insurable by the District’s insurance provider.
- Attention to detail and strict adherence to stocking policies and procedures is a must
- Must be able to sit and stand for 8 hours
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts
- Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift excessive weight
- Must have command of the English language, including reading, writing, speaking and typing
- Must possess good computer skills.
- Must possess strong experience in working and manipulating spreadsheets and CSV files
Desirable/Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in Logistics Management
- Knowledge of Operative IQ Inventory System Preferred
- Should be able to type 35-40 wpm.
- Good organizational skills.
- General knowledge of medical equipment preferred
Essential Job Functions
- Control inventory of consumable and durable EMS medical supplies, general station supplies, and gasses.
- Order, organize and maintain EMS supplies and distribution machines.
- Maintain and clean EMS supply areas in accordance with FDA standards.
- Utilize and monitor supplies via electronic supply system, including interacting with electronic inventory control systems and accounting system.
- Receive, quarantine, inspect, and distribute shipments.
- Replace/repair durable items when required.
- Implement and maintain supply reordering procedures/policies; to include policies to help prevent spoilage/pilfering.
- Control inventory of supplies with expiration dates (stock rotation policy).
- Maintain accurate accounting of asset assignments issued to units and/or members
- Implement and maintain a battery recharge/maintenance program for all rechargeable power supplies.
- Organize a maintenance plan for medical items that require regularly scheduled preventative maintenance (stretchers, monitors, suction units, etc.).
- Assist the Assistant Chief EMS on new products/protocol implementation.
- Assist the Assistant Chief EMS in budget planning and forecasting.
- Be able to communicate with various vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain and organize general station supplies and deliver to facilities.
- Order, maintain and account for all department uniforms.
- Order, maintain and account for all department fire and rescue gear.
- Utilize and monitor uniforms and gear via electronic supply system.
- Monitor and perform regular inspection of reserve vehicles; including the AMBUS and Rehab truck.
- Attend FEMA classes or other NIMS base courses as needed.
- Participate in the Finance, Planning or Logistics Branch during a disaster or EOC activation.
- Attend meetings and conferences as needed.
- Type and word process documents as needed.
- Order office supplies and monitor inventory.
- Update and maintain mailing lists.
- Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and customers.
- Facilitate or assist in special event planning and execution.
- Assist with various program operations as requested and as responsibilities permit.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of Operative IQ Inventory System Preferred
