Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.
Availability: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3 pm.
Hourly Pay: $20.00-22.00 depending on experience.

Job Summary
The Receiver provides a delightful customer experience while maintaining overall store operations by receiving and handling all incoming shipments. This person supports the Store Operations and embodies the spirit of a team player. The Receiver plays a key role in the success of our perpetual inventory system. All incoming and outgoing product from distributors, vendors and warehouse filter through the Receiver. They are responsible for ensuring product reaches appropriate store department. The Receiver is detail-oriented and inspects all incoming product for shipping errors or damage before it hits the floor. The Receiver interacts with customers, vendors, and fellow KWF Team Members in a positive and authentic manner and follows the direction of the Store Manager.
JOB DUTIES: The Receiver’s primary responsibilities to execute the following:
Organizing:
-
Makes space for deliveries without blocking exits or work areas, giving thought to other incoming merchandise. Stacks items securely.

Storage areas always organized. Items are stored in a place that is safe and easily accessible. Staff understands reasons for systems and maintains them. No empty boxes or merchandise in others’ way.

Plans for efficiency when back stocking so that needed items are not buried. All items clearly labeled and dated. Consolidates for maximum space efficiency.
Accuracy:
-
Accurate piece counts (for non-palletized deliveries). Requests and follows up with supplier credits. Catches accounting errors and supplier errors.

Makes precise notations of shipping and receiving errors on invoice. Fills out credit memo worksheet completely and accurately. Catches and corrects errors is assigning departments. The Accounting department can count on the receiver.
Quality Control:

Catches all non-intact packaging. Checks to see if perishables in good condition. Follows up to ensure drivers properly put away perishable product.

All rotates all stock when putting away.

Never causes damage to product.
Stocking Overview:
-
Establishes plan for pulling items for stockers that accurately reflects store priorities and amounts needed. Other staff can follow plan in the Receivers absence.

Observes out of stocks from previous shipments, brings out of stocks directly to the department when they come in.
Vendor Returns:
-
Keeps returns well-organized, none outside of the designated area. Returns picked up by next delivery.
Driver Relations:
-
Maintains good rapport with drivers. Obtains high level of service for store from them.
Customer Service:
-
Greets customers promptly, courteously, with enthusiasm. Develops rapport with regulars. Quickly guides customer to products.
Product Knowledge:
-
Reads references, constantly increases knowledge. Quickly and accurately answers customer questions on product sources, preparation, nutrition or refers to appropriate resources.
Efficiency:

Maintains quick pace, adjusts pace to volume. Plans ahead. Moves quickly from one task to the next. Takes initiative to find projects when tasks are completed, always keeps busy.
Safety:
-
Lifts carefully. Never leaves hazardous equipment in a situation where it could injure others. Promptly cleans up spills brought to her/his attention. Handles equipment carefully and deliberately. Stays aware of and promptly cleans up spills and debris.
Department Maintenance:
-
Cleans up after self. Sweeps floors ad cleans counters, scales, shelves on closing. Disposes of food waste properly. Cleans shelves while stocking.

Pays attention to the state of all equipment. Promptly reports to Management.
Ordering:
-
Manages special order program. Places orders in a timely manner and contacts customers upon receipt. Handles customer requests and phone calls in a friendly courteous manner. Does their best to find what customer is looking for at the best price and convenience for customers.

When applicable, orders department goods appropriately to avoid loss. Follows to ensure credit received. Follows record keeping procedures.

When applicable, maintains predetermined department inventory level. Ensures out of stocks signs are noted. Monitors sales responds to demand (media popularity, sales seasons). When possible, suggests alternatives to customers.
Assists in store operations as needed.
Requirements:
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

Full sense range (vision, hearing and sense of smell) – the ability to read product labels, distinguish color & smell for quality control as well as the ability to communicate with the customers and co-workers.

Lifting, gripping and carrying objects – up to 50-75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools and other products.

Stooping, squatting, & kneeling – stoop and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.

Walking – short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.

Standing- prolonged standing.
-
Work environment – movement based with the majority of time being in motion (walking & standing) rather that sedentary (sitting).

Climate – ability to work in cold environments (cooler, Freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
