Job Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative manages and grows sales within a machine shop by handling inbound inquiries, generating quotes, and maintaining customer relationships. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, technical expertise, and administrative support to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Customer Service:
a. Respond promptly to phone, email, and online customer inquiries.
b. Provide detailed information about machining services, capabilities, and products to customers.
c. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to drive repeat business.
2. Quotation and Order Management:
d. Prepare and send accurate quotations based on customer requirements and specifications.
e. Follow up on quotes to convert inquiries into orders.
f. Process orders and ensure all customer requirements are communicated to the production team.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
g. Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
h. Manage customer accounts and update information in CRM software.
i. Proactively reach out to dormant accounts to rekindle business relationships.
4. Technical Support and Expertise:
j. Understand and communicate technical aspects of machining services to customers.
k. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address technical questions and provide solutions.
l. Assist customers in selecting the appropriate machining services for their needs.
5. Sales Administration:
m. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and order statuses.
n. Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review.
o. Assist in developing sales materials, presentations, and marketing content.
6. Collaboration and Teamwork:
p. Work closely with the outside sales team to support their efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience.
q. Coordinate with the production team to manage lead times and delivery schedules.
r. Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
· High School Degree required
· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in inside sales is a bonus.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
· Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage multiple accounts.
· Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
Skills and Competencies:
· Detail-oriented and highly organized.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to customer service.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based, with regular interaction with production teams and occasional visits to the shop floor. Standard office hours with occasional need for extended hours based on customer needs or deadlines.
