Under general supervision, the Mechanical Engineer/ Designer will design mechanical tooling fixtures for manufacturing, quality, and assembly operations; Design part components for mechanical assemblies. Design molds for vacuum/pressure forming. Make drawings for engineering, manufacturing, and quality usage.
Study and research engineering, manufacturing, and quality issues. Employee will have the opportunity for hands-on training to learn CNC Machining, Welding, Thermoforming, Assembly, and Fabrication.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cost effective manufacturing processes for production parts

Establishing efficient work flow cells, implementing 5S and Lean mfg. while in compliance with customer specifications

Coordination with manufacturing and quality teams for continuous quality part production

Verify actual manufacturing time and update ERP system

Review cost of manufacturing and work with sales on improving profit

Detail documentation of specialty processes (Work instructions, OMS, i.e.)

First build process development and documentation for Assemblies

Resolve equipment, quality issues or documentation issues for production parts

Design toolings and fixtures, or make recommendations for manufacturing team

Identify continuous process improvements

Create CAD models/drawings as needed

Qualifications

Currently studying or a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or Automotive Engineering

Familiar with SolidWorks (proficient in creating models and drawings)
