Easterseals Veteran Staffing Network (VSN) is a non-profit staffing agency, offering career coaching and job placement services to our nation’s veterans and military spouses. We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Business Development/Account Manager to expand our client base, nurture existing client relationships, and sell employers on hiring military talent via the use of our staffing services. Your mission is to bridge the gap between military jobseekers and employers while ensuring client satisfaction and a smooth and successful hiring process. You will be responsible for driving business to VSN, and success will be measured in areas such as new client acquisitions, new job orders, placements, revenue, and profit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Acquisition:
· Conduct research to identify target employers that are a fit for VSN’s service offerings, having hiring needs in job categories where VSN can be successful.
· Gather information to understand the industry, the company, and their specific staffing needs. Learn who the stakeholders are and understand the internal dynamics that affect the company’s decision to outsource staffing.
· Develop and execute effective strategies to acquire new clients. Activities include attending networking events, conferences, online outreach, email and phone outreach, and other creative and innovative ways of getting in front of the right audience.
· Showcase the value of hiring veterans and the quality of VSN’s services
· Explain the options and benefits of temporary, temp-to-hire, or direct hire staffing strategies
· Develop relationships with chambers of commerce, employers’ associations, other Easterseals affiliates, and others who can connect VSN with potential clients.
· Collaborate with Easterseals Marketing & Communications department on client marketing efforts
2. Account Management:
· Collaborate with Recruiting Manager to build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their continued engagement with VSN.
· Earn more business from clients by developing and executing effective strategies for client engagement.
· Conduct frequent outreach to keep VSN top of mind for our less active clients.
· Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
· Gain a deep understanding of each client's unique staffing needs and company culture, enabling the recruiting team to find the right fit for the client.
· Monitor accounts and ensure the client is satisfied with VSN services; Conduct follow-up with clients after a hire to ensure satisfaction and help with retention.
· Help resolve client satisfaction issues as they arise.
3. Revenue Growth:
· Achieve and surpass sales targets by expanding the client base and realizing account growth.
· Develop and manage pricing strategies to ensure profitability while remaining competitive. Take into account VSN’s capabilities, constraints, costs, insurance, etc.
· Negotiate profitable pricing and contract terms. Ask for exclusives and other advantageous arrangements.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
· Use the CRM system to add/update contacts and company data; track interactions and sales activities.
· Prepare reports to show the BD pipeline, activity, and outcomes.
· Evaluate results and make data-driven decisions and adjustments as needed.
· Forecast business, prepare revenue targets, and participate in the budget process.
5. Represent Easterseals at events and during VIP visits. As needed, act as a spokesperson for VSN and Easterseals on panels, speaking engagements, etc.
6. Work collaboratively with other stakeholders including our admin, recruiting, marketing, grants finance, and other teams.
7. As needed assist with other duties.
Qualifications:
- US military veteran or military spouse highly preferred; connection to the military community and/or prior experience working with veterans/military considered
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
· 3+ years’ experience in business development. Experience in account management, B2B sales, consulting or other related roles may be considered.
- Proficiency and experience in the staffing industry is highly preferred.
- Business acumen; Ability to understand a variety of client needs and situations. Ability to understand the dynamics of staffing business such as types of competition, economies of scale for larger firms, pricing, margins/markups, seasonality, economic forces affecting various industries, etc.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively tailor communication based on the audience and the purpose.
- Strong creative problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proactive, self-motivated; good time management and follow-through
- Persistent with strong follow-up skills; motivated to earn new job orders through continuous effort
- Tech-savvy with ability to learn new software and navigate the internet with ease; Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency in using CRM software (Salesforce experience preferred) and other sales tools.
- Proficiency in using LinkedIn and other web-based sources to research/contact potential clients.
· Ability to travel to local events regularly. Overnight travel up to 4 short trips per year.
