Solaris Pediatric Therapy takes a holistic and collaborative approach to treatment. We are seeking a pediatric occupational therapist who demonstrates a genuine care for children and passion for improving lives. The right candidate will have a playful approach and a calm demeanor. Candidates must be a registered OT with a degree from a college/university having an accredited school of occupational therapy and be licensed by the state of Texas (or eligible for licensure).
At Solaris Pediatric Therapy, we treat children from the ages of birth to 18 years with sensory processing disorder, pervasive developmental disorders (including: Autism & Asperger’s), ADD/ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delays, physical disabilities, congenital disorders and learning disabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide occupational therapy to assigned children.
- Evaluate and monitor progress of assigned children in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, perceptual and self-help development.
- Maintain proper documentation of evaluation, treatment session and progress of children.
- Supervision and training of COTA and/or fieldwork students.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Degree from a college or university having an accredited school of occupational therapy.
2. Currently registered and licensed by the state of Texas or eligible for licensure.
3. Working knowledge and use of assessment tools used in the evaluation of infants and children.
4. Physical ability to lift and transfer children (minimum of 25 lbs.)
5. Ability to participate in handling and floor activities with children.
6. Completion of a pediatric internship or pediatric experience required.
7. Have current CPR certification or be able to obtain within 3 months.
8. Microsoft Office proficient.
