Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the Program Management team, the Senior Director will act as a part of PATH’s leadership team that oversees all aspects of program development, implementation, and evaluation. This team, consisting of the executive team, regional directors, and senior directors, ensures that PATH’s programs and services are effective at meeting the organization’s mission of ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. The Senior Director provides critical strategic leadership by helping to shape the organization’s future as part of PATH’s senior management team, and by supervising and engaging PATH’s Directors, who oversee specific programs and initiatives. Furthermore, the Senior Director will stay abreast of and continually analyze local and national trends in homeless services as well as affordable housing, healthcare, and mental health care and will assist the Chief Program Officer in identifying potential opportunities for PATH and emerging best practices.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Administer and oversee programs and staff. Review and provide guidance as needed on written program policies and protocols.
- Review and authorize all program and contract reports prior to submittal. Evaluate associate director/program manager reports to assemble full department reports. Review and explain contract scope and services to staff. Perform periodic internal audits. Attend monitoring site visits.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and scheduling/assigning ongoing workload assignments, setting and adjusting work to be accomplished by staff; adjusting program and project priorities; and preparing schedules for work completion.
- Utilize the latest data and current thinking within a clinical context of homeless services and supportive housing fields to inform the program development process.
- Ensure appropriate data collection and reporting as required by funders, government entities, and agency senior management. Prepare progress and performance reports for internal and external communication.
- In collaboration with the Chief Program Officer, establish agency policy and protocol in all areas of clinical service and work with Directors, Chief Program Officer and program management staff to ensure that best practices are being effectively executed so the clinical needs of all the agency clients are addressed.
- Assist in evaluating potential funding opportunities, determining whether the opportunity is appropriate for PATH to pursue, and developing proposals in response.
- Provide project management skills; manage and facilitate multiple and competing projects.
- Assist in all areas of program development and evaluation to ensure that programs are effective, efficient, and consistent with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Maintain effective relations with partners and help in the development and management of key strategic partnerships.
- Foster relationships with the community and a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to service providers, governmental entities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in healthcare, case management, homeless services or working with vulnerable populations.
- Eight (8) years of supervisory experience in homeless services or related social services field
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ten (10) years of experience in healthcare, case management, homeless services or working with vulnerable populations.
- Six (6) years of supervisory experience in homeless services or related social services field.
- Three years’ experience in training, public speaking, communication, human resources, or other related operational areas where they have demonstrated successes in integrating diversity and inclusion.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:
- Have employment eligibility verification
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
- Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:
- Have reliable transportation
- A valid driver’s license
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
- The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage

FLEXIBLE WORK
We are a California employer. Therefore, all regular and customary work must be performed within the state. Approval for work outside of the office, does not establish approval for work to be conducted outside of California.
