Benafica is seeking a highly motivated and engaging salesperson to join our growing sales team as a Medicare Advisor. The primary focus of this position is fostering relationships with our current Medicare clients and developing new relationships. Helping clients navigate the complexities of Medicare is a growing need as the Medicare Market expands and is a very rewarding career.

Position Overview
As a Medicare Advisor, you will be responsible for delighting our customers by providing expert guidance and support to individuals navigating the complexities of Medicare. You will assist clients in understanding their Medicare options, selecting appropriate plans, and ensuring they receive the benefits they are entitled to. This role requires a deep understanding of Medicare policies, exceptional communication skills, and a compassionate approach to client service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Consultation:
- Conduct detailed consultations with clients to assess their Medicare needs and preferences by explaining the different parts of Medicare (Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D)
2. Plan Comparison and Selection:
- Help clients compare Medicare Advantage Plans, Prescription Drug Plans, and Medigap options and assist them in selecting the most suitable plans based on their health needs, budget and preferences.
3. Enrollment Assistance:
- Guide clients through the Medicare enrollment process, including initial enrollment, special enrollment periods, and annual enrollment periods.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
4. Ongoing Support:
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up with clients to ensure their Medicare plans continue to meet their needs.
- Assist clients with any changes to their plans, such as switching plans or updating coverage during open enrollment periods.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to resolve any issues with Medicare plans, providers, or billing.
5. Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, plan selections, and other relevant information.
- Stay up to date with Medicare regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
6. Professional Development:
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current on Medicare policies and best practices and stay current with your state health insurance license.
- Attend industry conferences and seminars as needed.
Position Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in Medicare required – at least 1 year
- Licensure/Certification: State health insurance license may be required; Medicare-specific certifications (e.g., AHIP) are required within 45 days of hire.
