I. Job Summary
Under general supervision mechanics/ diesel technicians will perform preventive maintenance services and inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles and equipment for Leck Waste Services company fleet.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned daily.
- Works under limited supervision and be able to perform from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks on vehicles.
- Performs and completes repairs, signs in and out of work order and completes assigned preventive maintenance services.
- Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns as soon as possible to assist downed drivers.
- Conducts a thorough safety check on vehicles.
- Prepares and completes work orders utilizing Fleetio fleet maintenance software program. Fleetio organizes, and is efficiently used for repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and tracks repair times.
- Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job as a Leck Waste Service Mechanic/ Diesel Technician.
A. Education and Experience
- Education: Not required.
- Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
- Valid Commercial driver’s license (class B)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, a physical, and a background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle record review.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
