The Communications Specialist will provide advisory support to and coordinate with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Public Affairs Team to design and deliver internal communication plans for workforce education and awareness within the agency. The role will establish, plan and coordinate the DTRA Integrated Multimedia Production program as well as identify and coordinate project opportunities.
Communication Specialist
· Must have experience in project management, engagement planning, or communications.
· Must have strong writing skills and background with experience providing clear and concise deliverables with quick turn-around.
· Communicate both orally and in written form to coordinate with various stakeholders to plan and execute multiple, sometimes simultaneous, events and integrated multimedia and communication taskers. · Apply knowledge of Department of Defense organization and policy structure to effectively manage high priority tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver under pressure.
· Establish, plan and coordinate the DTRA Integrated Multimedia Production program. Identify and coordinate project opportunities with DoD, interagency, or international partners, including other military organizations, government agencies, academic institutions, and think tanks. Collaborate in communication/messaging development and implementation planning for all products.
· Facilitate, support, and attend meetings between DTRA principals and senior leaders from Agency stakeholder organizations; build briefings, report results and assist with follow-up on project action items closure.
· Provide advisory support to the Public Affairs team including any lessons learned on task execution throughout the period of performance of the task.
· Populate and maintain an electronic project repository, to include key points of contact, to be used for mission continuity and streamline process that may be accessed by all stake holders.
· Track, monitor, analyze, and report on metrics for blogs, vlogs, videos, and website
· Coordinate with the Public Affairs Team to design and deliver internal communication plans for workforce education and awareness within the agency
Educational Requirements
· Bachelor of Administration, or related area of study with 1-2 years' experience working within the National Security or Department of Defense entities.
