Job Description:
The Project Manager / Wildlife Biologist will be part of EI’s management team that provides environmental impact analyses and technical reports to clients on a variety of projects including land development (residential/commercial), transportation, and renewable energy, and others. The successful candidate will work with EI’s staff of biologists, archaeologists, environmental analysts, and GIS specialists as well as manage EI’s multidisciplinary teaming partners.
The successful candidate may also provide biological support for EI’s projects located throughout Southern California, primarily in Riverside, Los Angeles, and Kern Counties. Tasks may include focused wildlife surveys; documenting occurrence and distribution of identified species; and technical reporting for rare and endangered species. Other duties related to this position include marketing, business development, and revenue projections. EI offers incentives and bonus programs for new clients, contracts and exceeding revenue/profitability targets.
Education and Training:
- B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Biology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or related field
Technical Requirements:
- Knowledge of California’s biological resources with a strength in wildlife and/or wetland ecology
- Strong understanding of FESA, CESA, CEQA, and NEPA.
- Experience and training with ArcGIS and GPS technologies for large scale biological resource inventories
- Broad experience in varied habitats across southern California
- Current or previous USFWS 10(a)(1)(A) Permit and current/previous CDFW Scientific Collecting Permits
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with diverse groups including field staff, contractors, and clients
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience as an environmental professional with demonstrated knowledge of regional, State, and federal environmental laws as well as botany or endangered plant species management in California
