Human Resources Manager - $2,000 Signing Bonus
Health Projects Center (www.hpcn.org) is recruiting a Human Resources Manager to provide support to Health Projects Center?s Programs. This position, under indirect supervision, works closely with the Executive Director, Associate Director and the Leadership Team.

Health Projects Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation established in 1980. We provide exceptional community-based programs that support elders to live and age with dignity at home. We deliver culturally appropriate programs in both English and Spanish for older adults, family caregivers and health workers.
Health Projects Center serves Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties. We run the Del Mar Caregiver Resource Center, Multipurpose Senior Services Program, and the Central Coast Area Health Education Center. Our programs support over 1,300 families annually to live and age at home at a fraction of the cost of an institution.

Essential Functions:
- Recruitment
- Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements and create/update detailed job descriptions and create a hiring strategy.
- Source and screen candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and referrals.
- Manage the interview process and conduct, assessments and initial screenings to evaluate candidate qualifications.
- Onboarding and Orientation
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization.
- Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new employees to company policies, procedures, and culture.
- Coordinate necessary paperwork, including employment contracts, benefits enrollment, and tax forms.
- Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits.
- Assist employees with benefit inquiries and claims processing.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and reporting.
- Employment Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing questions and concerns related to HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues, including conflicts and disputes, in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Conduct Investigatory meetings if/when needed.
- Partner with managers on any employment relations matters concerning their employees.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Policy Enforcement
- Stay up-to-date with labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor and enforce company policies related to attendance, performance, and conduct.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Training and Development
- Assist in organizing and coordinating training programs for employees on topics such as diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and leadership development.
- Coordinating the annual performance evaluation process for the organization, including tracking completion and supporting managers as needed.
- Creating and maintaining an organization-wide training calendar.
- Tracking employee participation in legally and internally required training, certifications, and licensing (e.g., safety, harassment and discrimination prevention, management training, etc.).
- General Human Resources Administration
- Processing employee leaves and reasonable accommodation requests.
- Creating, processing, and tracking employee changes in the human resources information system and ensuring that employee records are current and complete.
- Working with leadership to manage employee relations, including addressing conflict, and providing support with performance management and progressive discipline.
- Support general HR administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and recordkeeping.
- Will serve as a member of the leadership team
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a HR Manager.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of, and experience in, compensation and benefit administration, performance management, employee relations, recruiting, and federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Excellent people skills, including the ability to build and manage relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse audiences and settings.
- Strong sense of confidentiality, accountability, and integrity
- Comfort operating both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrated success at managing time and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic planning and demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Experience and proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor?s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- Human Resources experience in non-profits
- Human Resources experience in health care agencies
- Experience implementing new HRIS systems.

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary is $85,000 - $95,000 per year depending upon skills and experience. We pride ourselves in maintaining a flexible and friendly work environment. We provide comprehensive benefits including: paid vacation (15 days); paid sick leave (80 hours); company paid medical, dental, vision, chiropractor/acupuncture, and life insurance; travel reimbursement; educational/fitness allowance; and pre-tax retirement plan with 6% of salary contributed by employer.
