Fire Alarm Inspection & Service Technician
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and service for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA 72 standards.
- Maintain structured inspection schedules.
- Discuss deficiencies with customers and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Complete required documentation including deficiency repair recommendations.
- Work with Service and Testing Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the customer.
- Perform services and repairs within scope on fire alarm systems.
- Respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform thorough troubleshooting, repair and/or replacement.
- Complete service ticket documentation after each service and prior to leaving the area of work.
- Provide instructions/training to authorized customer personnel on proper operation of fire alarm system.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree is preferable.
- Previous experience in inspecting, testing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
- Proficient understanding of NFPA Standards.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including occasional weekends.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities.
- Effective customer-facing and service-oriented skills.
- Eligibility for employment in the United States is a must.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to utilize ladders and hand tools is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of related experience and/or training in the fire alarm industry.
- Understanding of fire alarm control panels, including but not limited to: Firelite, Notifier, EST, Mircom, Gamewell, Simplex, Siemens and Silent Knight.
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I
