ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who has a clear passion for independently bringing in new business with experience in produce, dry freight, and/or transportation brokerage., based in the markets with a focus on dry van and refrigerated truck load. This position focus will be on new business growth - specifically establishing and maintaining long term business relationships.

Essential Functions:
- Through independent prospecting, gather information to identify high-level sales opportunities.
- Pro-actively develop, qualify, and secure new business with the goal of offering specific transportation solutions while promoting our capabilities and expertise.
- Focus to develop long lasting customer relationships built on competitive strategies, trust and exceeding customer expectations.
- Utilize successful rate negotiation techniques to secure a premium rate and service solutions with the customer.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing plan to identifying short, medium and long-term sales targets.
- Establish a sales plan to achieve the agreed upon targets.
- Maintain weekly and monthly sales status reports and rolling sales projections for review.
- Establishes effective communications with managers and operations department to continuously improve client responsiveness and continuous sales improvement.
- Manage and maintain relationships of some existing customers.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
· The ideal candidate would have a passion for freight and an entrepreneurial/sales-oriented mindset.
· Minimum of 6 years of business experience in a sales environment within logistics, transportation and preferably in the produce industry.
· Experience and industry relationships with produce growers and/or trucking companies preferable.
· Understands the mechanics and technical aspects of brokering.
· Strong understanding of contractual rules and regulations in the produce and freight transportation sectors
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent sales skills
· College Degree preferred within a business acumen.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to sit at desk for majority of workday at computer.
· Ability to lift, move and carry 5-10 lbs. of office equipment.
· Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a sedentary setting within a professional office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
