Position: Sr Staff Accountant
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with CFO and Third Party Accounting/FP&A Firm to maintain GAAP compliant financial statements
- Work with Accounting function to close the books timely, perform BvA, and build budgets as needed
- Manage day to day AP & AR
- Manage day to day operations of Corp Credit Cards
- Assist in weekly reporting to CFO including but not limited to cash forecasting, disbursement planning and wholesale channel reporting
- Must understand inventory reporting for Digital & Wholesale channels and be able to translate meaningful commentary back to Wholesale customers and management team on a regular basis
- Must have a strong technical knowledge of wholesale inventory across various platforms and be able to manage the AR process of many POs at various stages of the order to fulfillment cycles. In order to do so, must have strong knowledge of EDI connections across the platforms (or willingness to learn).
- Proactively identify, propose, and implement process improvements to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries, and operational efficiencies.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining internal control policies and procedures.
- Assist in writing formal Expense Policy
- Assist in running regular Payroll
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the greater team to ensure information is captured correctly across all departments
- Maintain organized files and supporting documentation for financials
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience with a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and have prior work experience with Inventory
- Must have relevant experience with intercompany activity and journal entries
- CPA preferred
- Experience with QBO & ERP Systems
- Experience with Inventory Planner, 3PL platforms, Hubspot, Shopify, Amazon Seller, SPS Commerce preferred
- Experience with Payroll PEO preferred
- Strong Excel skills, must be comfortable with large volumes of data.
- Ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve issues utilizing problem-solving techniques.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively support individuals at all levels within the organization with timely and effective communication, clarity, and positivity.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- Willing to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to work in a start-up environment where multi-tasking is required.
Location: Hybrid. This person must be able to meet with team members in office (Austin, TX area) up to two days a week as needed.
