General Description
The Emergency Room Physician works in our community health center’s emergency room department providing urgent care services. Essential responsibilities include treating patients with life-threatening illnesses, establishing effective patient care plans, and referring patients to the appropriate specialists. In general, the ER Physician stabilize and treat patients who are experiencing acute health problems or traumatic injuries, provides advice about further care and advancing treatment by recommending a course of action if an emergency medicine patient needs to be admitted in a hospital. It’s a fast-paced and ever-changing work landscape, treating various injuries and illnesses from patients of all walks of life, from children to geriatrics.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no managerial duties
Minimum Education
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution
Experience and Qualifications
- Desirable experience in an Emergency Room, Urgent Care Facility and/or Primary Care Center
Licenses / Certifications
- Medical License issued by the Puerto Rico Medical Discipline and Licensure Board
- Federal (DEA) and State (AMSSCA) License for Controlled Substances
- CPR-BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
- NPI Registry
