Description:
The Instrumentation and Controls Technician will be primarily responsible for installing and commissioning large-scale industrial equipment and will answer directly to the Installation and Service Manager
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- 2-year trade school or technical certificate is preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in industrial electrical/mechanical equipment industry with focus on instrumentation, programmable controllers, mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with emphasis on troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of industrial electricity, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication.
- Must be able to calibrate electrical equipment and instruments.
- Read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Responsibilities:
- Will support projects by participating in project scope, design, and functional specifications.
- Troubleshoot complex systems (mechanical and electrical), PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, installation, loop turning, calibration, development, implementation, repair and maintenance of instrumentation, control, safety and electrical systems.
- This role will also serve as liaison to other internal and external parties concerning equipment, instruments and related systems.
- This person will perform design review, factory acceptance testing, system start-ups and operational checks of the systems.
