The Leasing Consultant is a full-time position that is focused on our buildings located primarily in the Hyde Park area. The primary responsibility of building relationships with current and prospective residents, diligently pursuing all leads and closing the sales. The Leasing Consultant works with the Leasing Manager to build and manage relationships with prospective residents to achieve the highest occupancy and customer satisfaction rates possible.
Leasing Consultants will be exposed to the general operations of successful residential communities in the vibrant Hyde Park and South Loop neighborhoods. Our properties are located within favorable distance to transportation centers, restaurants and night life, and other community hot spots, like colleges and medical campuses.
This position is a salaried, exempt position, with eligibility to earn commissions. The preferred work hours will be 10 AM- 6 PM, with flexibility to accommodate showings outside of routine schedule as needed. Must have availability for at least one weekend shift, and will be expected to transverse locations in both South Loop and Hyde Park.
Your Mission:
- Support the Leasing Manager to ensure occupancy and leasing goals are met for the community
- Leasing:
- Drive day-to-day leasing goals onsite, interacting with prospective residents via phone, e-mail, and in person, conducting tours, diligently pursuing the close of each sale, performing follow ups, and completing leasing paperwork with prospective residents
- Understand and be able to explain the lease in its entirety
- Understand and abide by the leasing policies and company standards
- Maintain confidentiality in all job responsibilities as it pertains to staff and tenants
- Stock offices with marketing materials each morning
- Know all amenities and features of each property and how to favorably compare them to the competition.
- Report to Leasing Manager each day regarding leasing traffic, prospect objections, and effectiveness of marketing and sales strategies
- Marketing and Public Relations
- Assist with the execution of the marketing campaigns
- Attend local events that are related to housing or the general marketing of the community
- Provide ideas to Leasing team for advertising/marketing tactics throughout the year
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with every potential resident and guest in order to spread positive word of mouth
- Positively represent the property both on and off the clock
- Property and Maintenance
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the show unit(s), tour route and leasing office
- Resident Relations
- Provide outstanding customer service for all residents
- Input service requests in accordance with company standards
- Communicate policies and procedures to residents
- Prepare necessary documents/packets for move-in

- Assist property leadership with various projects as requested
- Complete any additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor
Your Track Record
- Leasing and sales experience strongly preferred; strong aptitude and interest in a wide range of marketing platforms
- Experience with Appfolio or similar systems preferred
- Social media and digital marketing experience preferred
- Experience in the student or residential housing industry preferred
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills required

Individuals must have the ability to easily transverse property while showing rental spaces to prospective tenants.
