Northern Air Maintenance Services (NAMS) is an FAA Certified 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. We are the sole maintenance provider for ConocoPhillips' fleet of three DHC-8-400 (Q400) aircraft. In addition to maintenance services, NAMS handles ground operations, inventory control, and passenger screening for all flights between Anchorage, Kuparuk, and Alpine. With over 70 dedicated employees, we also provide contract maintenance for two DHC-6-300/400 Twin Otters and one CASA 212-300 aircraft based in Alpine, AK.

As a Passenger Screening Agent, you will be responsible for conducting passenger and baggage screening for ConocoPhillips flights. Your primary duties will include operating screening equipment, performing searches, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Excellent customer service and professionalism are essential qualities for this role.
- Conduct passenger and baggage screening following ConocoPhillips' security program.
- Operate screening equipment to identify and prevent the transportation of dangerous objects onto ConocoPhillips aircraft.
- Perform searches using hand wands and conduct pat-down searches.
- Adhere to applicable TSA, Company, and Customer rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate and coordinate with various departments and personnel, including the ticket counter, operations, flight crew, and flight attendants.
- Sort baggage using baggage carts and tugs.
- Stay current on x-ray training to meet or exceed customers' baseline standards.
- Ensure all screening locations are secure during screening activities.
- Maintain focus and awareness in a high-noise and stressful environment.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- The minimum age requirement of 18.
- High school diploma or general education degree.
- Must pass initial and recurrent security tests as required.
- Highly organized with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient in digital literacy, including Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel.
- Familiarity with U.S. FAA and TSA regulations, company policies/procedures, and other relevant material.
- Experience in the aviation industry preferred.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Previous security experience is recommended.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Flexibility in work shifts and schedules.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and receive TSA clearance for secure area access.
The physical demands of this role include lifting passenger luggage weighing up to 50-70 pounds per item, climbing up and down low air stairs, stooping for luggage handling, reaching for luggage and paperwork processing, and clear communication (talking) for at least 75% of the day. Good vision is required for operating X-ray machines, processing paperwork, inputting data, and verifying identifications. A vision test and good hearing for communication are also necessary.
