RSM US LLP is looking for a dynamic Client Engagement Manager to support our Private Equity practice. The Client Engagement (CE) team is a national team of professionals within RSM’s North American Sales group. Client Engagement was established to deliver the full power of RSM to the Firm’s most strategic clients. CE’s play a pivotal role in building and strengthening relationships with RSM’s identified key clients and work closely with account leaders, business developers and other internal stakeholders to deliver value for our top clients and drive long-term growth opportunities.
The CE Manager will report directly to the CE Director and will be directly responsible for collaborating with Enterprise Account Leaders (EALs), Business Developers (BDs) and Relationship Leaders (RLs) to shape the vision, establish priorities, set strategic direction, and coordinate efforts among each of the functional areas involved in the strategic account as well as ensuring a high level of service for identified strategic accounts. The CE Manager will work closely with EALs, BDs, and RLs on account planning and key projects to ensure coordination, consistency of approach across the account and effective execution of the strategic account plan. As a CE Manager, you will be responsible for participating in CE Team operational and brainstorming activities, documenting and sharing best practices and acting as mentor and coach to new team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The CE Manager will be responsible for collaborating with Enterprise Account Leaders (EALs), Business Developers (BDs), and Relationship Leaders (RLs) to deliver account support which will strengthen relationships and drive growth opportunities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Account Strategy and Planning :
- Collaborate with EALs, BDs and other key internal stakeholders to enable and drive the development of strategic account plans that are aligned with the client’s business objectives.
- Document the strategic account plan and take the lead role in driving execution of the plan and ensuring the completion of all key action items.
Client Relationship Management:
- Perform detailed research of the client and industry and build a deep understanding of the client’s needs, challenges and goals.
- Research and document relationships within the account and utilize LinkedIn Navigator to identify opportunities to expand relationships with the client and drive growth.
- Identify relevant marketing events, programs and thought leadership and share with the internal team to build and nurture existing relationships and develop new relationships.
Account Oversight and Management :
- Research and deliver on-going timely information regarding the client, industry and business issues to EAL’s, BDs, and other internal stakeholders.
- Develop tools through SmartSheets and Teams for collaboration, account organization, relationship mapping, action item tracking and financial performance reporting.
- Coordinate with engagement teams to understand overall project status (on-time, on budget), manage risks, escalate issues as appropriate.
Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts. Bring relevant opportunities and information from RSM subject matter experts to the EALs, BDs and other internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Coordinate and support proposal development as needed.
- Support business development pipeline coordination.
Financial Reporting / Monitoring:
- Ensure all relevant data is connected to CRM and MDM for accurate pipeline and revenue reporting.
- Monitor pipeline and revenue growth targets.
- Monitor WIP and Accounts Receivable to ensure timely billing and collection of revenue. Escalate issues within the internal account team.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Establish regular meeting cadence with EALs, BDs, RLs and other internal stakeholders to facilitate internal collaboration that drives strategic growth initiatives.
- Coordinate opportunity-driven conversations with service line/industry leads and/pr clients based on new opportunities or potential new areas for growth.
- Establish regular meeting cadence with account team and client, as appropriate, and coordinate agenda and collateral for meetings.
Team Mentorship
The CE Manager will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and pairing with both new and junior team members to provide practical, hands-on knowledge of the key account support methodology and tools utilized by the CE Team to deliver excellence in supporting RSM’s most strategic accounts. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting in onboarding and training of new and more junior CE team members
- Involving new and/or junior team members into existing accounts to demonstrate the CE account support methodology.
- Be available and accessible to new and/or junior CE team members to answer questions and provide support as asked or required to ensure best development of new and/or junior CE team members.
- Review of work product, where appropriate.
- Share best practices.
Reporting
The CE Manager will be responsible for providing regular management reporting for the assigned accounts. This will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Detailed pipeline opportunity reporting across industry for accounts supported.
- Revenue reporting across industry for accounts supported.
- Growth tracking against targets
- Providing insight into growth and revenue reporting as required

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or related field (required)
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Required)
- CRM experience for sales and/or account management application and requirements (Required)
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated (Required)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Required)
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills (Required)
- Exceptional ability to plan, prioritize, multitask and manage a significant workload with exceptional attention to detail (Required)

- Ability to travel (local and overnight when appropriate)
EXPERIENCE
- 4-5 years’ experience in account management, marketing, business development or professional services (Required)
- Working knowledge of Private Equity and/or up-market accounts (Required)
- 3+ years of experience with project management (Required)
- Previous professional services industry experience (preferred)
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
- Leadership in this role is largely based on influence and subject matter expertise rather than formal leadership roles or reporting lines.
- Ability to provide coaching, training and mentoring to team members (Required)

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $171,100
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
