Job Overview:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Sr. ME) develops, validate, implements, and maintains methods, flow, and systems of production. The Manufacturing Engineer estimates manufacturing cost, determines manufacturing requirements, and coordinates the release of new and/or existing products. Reports to Director, MFG Engineering Operations. Located in Newark, CA.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in Unigen’s manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, and assemblies
Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards (production flow, PFMEA, shop floor control, assembly methods, production equipment and chemical selection)
Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls
Assist ME Manager/Director in improving the system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training
Design, develop, test and/or source various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
2. Interface with design, product engineering, and customer in coordinating the release of new products
Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results
Responsible for transitioning hardware products from design into manufacturing
In cooperation with customer and/or hardware development engineering, provide design for manufacturability (DFM) and PFMEA
Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products
Ensure product is build with correct revision
3. Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and/or existing product lines
Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
Design and order tooling and fixtures required for manufacturing process
Create manufacturing labor and NRE quote, update cycle time on timely manner (Quotation and MPI)
Manage ECO / MCO change requirements – create or update instructions and tooling if required and coordinate with production to implement necessary changes
4. Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations

5. Provide engineering support and share technical expertise cross-functionally
Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality/continuous improvement, and improved efficiency
Participate in root cause analysis for any defect products or RMA’s
Review and analyze Quality data and suggest corrective/preventive actions to improve quality yield
Provide training to production supervisors, leads, and operators in special process requirements
Other duties and responsibilities related to Manufacturing Engineering as assigned
Job Qualifications:
1. Minimum BS Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum 5 years of related experience in Supplier, Process, and Customer Quality areas in EMS environment or equivalent education.
3. Practical knowledge (advanced level, including troubleshooting and training) of process engineering systems and tools, including Gerber/Board/CAD Viewer Software, Panacim MES and Traceability Interface, 2D/3D Modeling and Drafting Software.
4. Knowledge of Vector/Artwork Drawing Software, Panasonic Machine Programming and Interface Software, Offline SPI Programming Software, Stencil Management Software
5. Knowledge of Tooling Management Software, Maintenance Management Software, Reflow Profiling Software, Conformal coating, Strain Gage & Software.
6. Proficient in Scanner Programming Software, Toolsnet Torque Driver Programming Software, Routing Programming Software, Nordson Dage 3D X-ray, and other commonly used systems/tools.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
