Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Veterinary Technician is to provide high quality medical support and nursing care to companion animal patients. The Veterinary Technicians assist within outpatient and/or inpatient departments. All teams are under the direction of the doctor on staff. The doctor is the lead, and will be prioritizing patients, directing the team and is the ultimate decision maker for all medical treatments. The Shift Leads are the leads for managing the floor and its flow.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to critically think and maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment. Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program or related animal health science degree. An individual may be considered qualified if she/he has extensive clinical experience in lieu of formal education. Computer proficiency required.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Triage of incoming patients while utilizing social distancing procedures
- Venipuncture
- Appropriate handling of sample collection, as well as using and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Safely and effectively obtaining diagnostic radiographic images as well as assist in non-radiographic imaging procedures.
- Administration of medications, fluids, and blood products.
- Knowledge of animal handling/restraint.
- All aspects of patient care, with particular regard to emergency and critical care patients.
- Create and maintain client/patient records.
- Maintain appropriate facility records and logs in compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Deliver client education.
- Respect and protect the confidentiality of client and patient information.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Interact professionally with clients and fellow staff members.
- Must be a team player and be able to interact professionally with members of medical treatment team.
- Handle emergency situations efficiently and calmly.
- Present treatment plans to clients.
- Participate in regular team meetings and ad hoc committees within the company.
- Ensure proper care of strays (cleaning, walking, pain control, feeding, coordinating with Health Care Team regarding transfers to shelters, etc.)
- Provide updates to clients regarding the status of their pets.
- Participate in rounds to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Ensure cleanliness of facility including cleaning kennels, laundry, mopping and cleaning of hospital (lobby, exam rooms, treatment areas, etc).
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Punctual.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. Benefit package included medical, vision, dental, generous CE allowance, overtime, uniforms, 401K match, and PTO. Potential for signing bonus.
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour/ DOE
