POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Appointment Scheduler acts as the first face of our organization. This individual is responsible for scheduling appointments, obtaining patient information, and verifying medical insurance information. He or she should be able to interact with patients on a friendly and professional level at all times.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Answer calls, as well as welcoming and assisting patients and visitors.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, tests, treatments, and other procedures.
- Obtain and update patients’ personal and health information.
- Create and maintain electronic health records.
- Prepare patients’ files for consultation and evaluation.
- Manage inquiries and relay messages about scheduling, referrals, and prescription refills.
- Verify medical insurance information, as well as mediate between patients and medical insurers.
- Collect co-payments from patients and following up on medical insurance claims.
- Enter payment information into an electronic billing system.
- Maintain an office supply inventory and replenish stock in a timely manner.
- Maintain a knowledge of basic medical terminology and inventory management.
- Maintain excellent organizational and communication skills.
