Maryland Family Resource, Inc. is an outpatient mental health center that provides a continuum of mental health services for individuals with psychiatric disorders in Prince George's County, MD and Washington, DC. We want you!
We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the following position:
CBI/Crisis Intervention Therapist
CBI/Crisis Intervention Therapist (Long Term Contract) The CBI/Crisis Intervention Therapist works to assist individuals with mental illness to reach a higher level of independence. This position is to serve our child, adolescent and adult community. Services which are provided are individualized and based upon a detailed needs assessment which is conducted on each consumer. The CBI/Crisis Intervention Therapist provides support with accessing and coordinating benefits, services and community-based resources. There may be some trauma work/services as part of this position. Therapy services are provided on-site, within the home, and in the community. There is some flexibility to provide telehealth. The CBI/Crisis Intervention Therapist receives weekly supervision and support.
Qualifications
REQUIRED: Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Psychologist (PSY) in Washington, DC or Maryland.
Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing clinical services as outlined by the policies and procedures of Maryland Family Resource
- Provides Community Based Intervention (CBI), level II and III, services to youth between the ages of 6 and 21.
- Provides services to youth and families in a culturally competent respectful manner
- Provides individual and family counseling using therapeutic interventions that are driven by the needs, wants, and desires of the client, and, as dictated by the client’s Treatment Plan
- Initiate CBI services within 24 hours of receiving the referral notification from supervisor
- Initiates Family Team Meeting within 7-14 days of referral
- Develops safety plan with the input of youth, family, and all stake holders
- Educates the family about CBI services and role of CBI clinicians and CBI team
- Serves as the leader, director, and coordinator of the treatment team (staff) providing services to the client
- ongoing monitoring of the Treatment Plan, the ongoing assessment of the client’s needs; and making adjustments to the Client’s Treatment Plan as needed
- Responsible for all functions related to coordinating, managing, supporting, and facilitating appropriate services to meet the needs of clients and families
- Explains in detail to youth and family how crisis calls are handled 24/7 and the role of the CBI team
- Provides CBI services in home, school, and community at least 90% of the time (telehealth services are currently available)
- Assures that intensity of service meets the needs of the youth and family
- Participates in CBI required training curriculum
- Remains flexible to schedule sessions around youth and family’s availability
- Facilitate discharge team meeting including all stake holders
- Participate in individual and group supervision as scheduled
- Assists with the implementation of program initiatives as directed by Supervisor
