Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team. The Director of Nursing plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care to our residents while fostering a positive work environment for our staff. In addition to clinical leadership, we are looking for someone who is passionate about our community and someone willing to continue to develop relationships with hospitals and referral sources to drive admissions and enhance the overall quality of care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and patient care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote quality care and safety for residents.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure interdisciplinary communication and coordination of care.
- Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff to promote professional growth and development.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources to drive admissions and referrals.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activities.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to nursing care and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure in the state of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a director-level role in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
- Strong clinical background with a focus on geriatric nursing and rehabilitation.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing skilled nursing facilities, including Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with hospitals and referral sources.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
