Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Records Specialist is responsible for performing records operations and assisting with the administration of electronic records including physical and electronic records management; legal research to obtain file disposition; information mobility (file transfers); legal holds and retention of client records in compliance with Firm policies and standard procedures. The Records Specialist will facilitate the processing of audit letter requests in a timely and organized manner; actively manage both on-site and off-site records collection while maintaining consistent records across the Firm records management system and off-site vendor systems; and utilize the Records Management System (RMS) to enter, index and update content including running various reports. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of information management principles, preferably in a legal environment, to execute appropriate operation decisions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum one to two (1 - 2) years of records or information management experience preferred (physical and electronic records management is required).
- Experience with records management software, such as iManage Records Manager (IRM); FileTrail; LegalKEY or other records management systems.
- Familiarity with document management systems, such as iManage or NetDocuments, and experience using Microsoft products (including SharePoint) is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle pressure and contribute to creative resolution of problems as they arise.
Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this New York position is $65,000 – $73,000.
