POSITION SUMMARY:
The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication and welding parts of both a production and R&D environment and works with formal drawings, sketches or verbal instructions. The activities include safe operation of welding equipment, saws, grinders, sanders, fixtures, hand tools and material handling equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Fabricate, weld and inspect product in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer requirements
· Read blueprints and welding symbols
· An understanding of how to inspect every part using geometric dimensioning and tolerance and enter data into company quality data base
· Maintain and clean equipment and tools
· Maintain production efficiency levels
· Fill out quality reports and files
· Participate in continual improvement activities
· Participate in the identification and resolution of problems
· Comply with all company rules, regulations and requirements
· Must have the ability to learn and teach new skills
· Process improvement
· Communicate, support and reinforce the values of the organization professionally
· Work in a team environment and be supportive of all company initiatives
· Maintain a safe and organized work area
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications
Welding experience and the ability to read a blueprint. Ability to communicate, basic computer skills, proficient in blue print reading, machine/weld shop experience & detail oriented
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand, push, pull, reach and bend to the floor; and must be able to push up to 75 lbs. occasionally
Hearing Ability:
No special requirement
Visual Acuity:
Near acuity and accommodation are required to read blueprints, set-up sheets, routers and scheduling board
Working Conditions:
Works on the shop floor, may be subject to:
§ High levels of noise
§ Physical hazards of moving equipment and machine parts
§ Varying degrees in temperature
Most Critical Skill Dimensions:
§ Understanding of manufacturing equipment
§ Understanding of role in meeting quality expectations
§ Ability to prioritize under stressful conditions
Work Experience:
Must have at least 5 years of experience in fabrication and vacuum welding.
Equipment or Software:
§ Shop Keeper 2000
§ Microsoft Office
§ Ability to read blueprints
Education:
§ High school diploma or GED; and or equivalent work experience
