Experienced Lawn Care Crew Lead
Nancy Fritz Designs, LLC is looking for a seasoned landscaping professional. We are a landscape company specializing in native landscape design, installations, irrigation, ornamental care, lawn care, and much more in/around the Seattle area.
Work includes managing a small crew by prioritizing projects, assigning work tasks, using standard landscaping equipment, maintaining records, monitoring and ensuring work products and schedules with the highest quality. The Crew Lead shall ensure safety, training, mentoring of their team and managing employee performance feedback. The crew leader shall participate in performing various lawn care & landscaping functions and must keep equipment in good working operation. The Crew Lead may be responsible for procuring materials, is responsible for completing work orders, and record-keeping for each project. This work subjects the employee to outside environmental conditions, extremes in temperatures, and hazards associated with equipment operation including fumes, oils and gases. Employee must be able to safely lift 70 lbs. Work is supervised by the crew manager and executive management team.
Responsibilities
The Lawn Care Crew Lead position is responsible for managing and completing with the highest quality the daily production schedule for assigned customers, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Manages a crew of 1-3 employees
- Participates in the execution of all work orders in the highest degree of quality with crew member(s)
- Consistent updates with management using our communication processes
- Actively educate crew members in proper landscaping practices
- Properly fill out job sheets with times and expenses
- Maintains assigned equipment and reports deficiencies to office manager
- Operates all equipment and vehicles and a safe manner
- Always interacts with clients and vendors with a professional and positive demeanor.
- Instructs employees in proper work methods and standards; monitor crew work quality; ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices, provide performance feedback and input into performance reviews.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Possess a current and valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check
- Must have experience driving a landscaping/mowing truck with a mower rack attached
- Can create/read/execute basic field reports/directions
- Must speak Fluent English, bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
- Working knowledge of leadership skills including communication, motivation, performance feedback, lead a small crew and inspire confidence
- At least 1-3 years of experience leading a crew required
- Advanced skill in the operation of landscaping equipment and tools used for assigned work areas
- Lawn Care Crew Lead must always participate in “stand-by” status during natural disasters or inclement weather conditions and be available to change schedule on a moment’s notice
