IPS - Rubbercraft (RCC) is seeking a Production Lead who is responsible for overall production and supervision of one area or department for one value stream at the Rubbercraft facility. This Lead position will work closely with the value stream manager, quality and engineering to ensure alignment to Rubbercraft directives and initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the growth of our business through positive trending of customer related metrics. Critical metrics for this role are as follows: Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-Time-Delivery, Cost-out and EBITDA.
This position works in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, utilizes knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to deliver world class results in efficiency, quality and productivity.

Manage, develop and lead talent within the area of responsibility.
- Utilize continuous improvement (lean) across all areas to improve cost, quality and efficiency ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Provide a safe work environment through focus on 6S, risk reduction and data driven decision making.
- Support and execute level loading production schedules for capacity analysis and staffing

Schedule customer orders to the department daily to ensure that OTD and quality requirements are achieved.
- Responsible for reporting to Engineering when a red-lining is required in the routers to ensure accurate and appropriate steps are being taken within the manufacturing process

Train and cross train key positions in the department

Ensure department equipment is properly maintained and operating in a safe manner.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies including OSHA.

Directs the production and inventory control functions of the extrusion department to ensure that the customers’ needs are met in a timely manner while utilizing the capacity of the operation in an efficient manner
- Work with planning and sales supporting customer requests and delivery commitments

Job Specifications:
Education: Associates degree or higher preferred; High School education or GED required
Years Experience: Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment. 3+ years working in elastomeric extrusion environment preferred
Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP
- Understanding of safety and EHS procedures

Ability to stand long periods of time
Preferred Skills:
- Associate’s’ degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Green Belt or Black Belt certified
Training Requirements:
- On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions from the area of responsibility.

Yearly refresher training on FOD, Calibration, Documentation control and Safety Topics.
