Overview:
Ideal candidates currently reside near one of our manufacturing plants in the west or mid-west states.
The Senior Utilities Reliability Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of AFNA network process utilities equipment including but not limited to: boilers, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, cooling towers, potable water, wastewater, HVAC, and fryers. This role will also be responsible to contribute, support, and maintain EHS requirements, including but not limited to Process Safety Management (PSM) as applicable to relevant systems and equipment.
The Senior Manager will oversee the deployment of utility contingency and business continuity plans at each factory in the event of failures lasting more than 48 hours with an expectation to be back on-line within 48-72 hours of interruption depending on the utility.
The Senior Manager will develop and maintain both the programs and organizational capability to maintain 99% machine efficiency across the network. PM Pillar methodology shall be utilized to provide the basic framework for improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to support ANFA Maintenance Strategy specific for utilities assets to maintain/improve asset reliability at all levels of factory operation.

Implement predictive maintenance strategies to increase reliability and increase planned maintenance activity.

Lead the transformation from reactive/breakdown to proactive/planned maintenance for utilities assets.

Develop, lead, and support a network of plant maintenance professionals to ensure continuity of service.

Develop, implement, and maintain business continuity and contingency plans for all utility systems within the network.

Ensure compliance to Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements for applicable systems and equipment.

Monitor the maintenance and reliability plans and objectives in accordance with AFNA Master Plan, Leadership Vision and PM Pillar activities as outlined in the Phase Assessment master document.
- Propose, monitor and trend key performance indicators in accordance with the Basic Management processes, maintenance cost optimization and PI compliance, to ensure best possible operation and reduction of downtime.

Ensure the systematic review of utilities services critical to the business and those where failure have an unacceptable impact on safety, personnel safety, food safety, environment, or compliance with the law.

Ensure that the job planning processes and procedures are accurate and effective in driving utilities maintenance labor efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Ensure CMMS data accuracy to include work descriptions, damage codes and root cause analysis are documented correctly.

Share maintenance-related best practices across all AFNA factories.

Update/optimize reliability engineering tools and guidelines, to minimize Unplanned and Planned Downtime, ensure a common approach, administration, and training.
- Facilitate the evolution/refinement of Maintenance activities to minimize planned and unplanned downtime (PM’s, changeovers, etc.).

Insure adherence to OSHA, USDA and FSQA regulatory standards.

Contribute to the capital planning process for utility equipment replacement and upgrades

QUALIFICATIONS

Engineering Degree preferred with minimum 5 years’ experience for reliability of critical utilities systems listed above with mandatory experience with PSM

In lieu of degree 10, years’ experience responsible for reliability of critical utility systems with responsibility for PSM compliance. Prefer certifications for specific utilities listed above.
