Alta Orthopaedics has been providing expert orthopaedic and sports medical care to Santa Barbara for over 30 years. They combine state-of-the-art orthopaedic practices with compassionate, personalized care. Alta is a BUSY practice and wants to hire individual(s) who are committed to teamwork, excellence, and personalized care with the patients.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate patients in clinic, diagnosis and create plan of care
- Consult on patients in the hospital and ER with appropriate plan of care or referral
- Consult/follow up with patients at specific SNF’s
- Assist physicians in surgery
- Perform diagnostic Ultrasound
- Apply casts, splints, and braces as indicated
- Deliver injections with and without guidance as indicated
- Supervise MA’s/runners
- Prescribe medications appropriately and within the scope of practice
- Perform a thorough subjective and objective evaluation to render an orthopedic diagnosis
- Able to create an appropriate and effective plan of care
- Perform diagnostic imaging appropriate to scope of service
- Effectively splint, cast, brace injuries to offer adequate stabilization
- Able to appropriately order and interpret lab
- Assist with patient prep for surgery
- Appropriately order and interpret diagnostic imaging
- Diagnose patients with referral to the appropriate practitioner
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience Requirements:
- Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Masters of Nursing Degree
- Successful completion of an Orthopedic Internship, preferred but not required
- Valid California Physician Assistant license OR Graduate of an accredited NP program approved by the CA Board of Registered Nursing
- CPR and ACLS certified
- 2 years of experience working predominantly with Orthopedic patients

Salary: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
