Reporting directly to the General Manager, this key administrative role for the Affinity Kitchens and Cabinet Solutions companies is responsible for the day-to-day, accounting, payroll and HR functions for the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
Payroll Administration:
· Submit payroll information to head office
· Track and report on sales commissions
· Ensure compliance with state level payroll requirements
· Benefit enrollments and renewals
Human Resources Administration:
· Recruitment (job postings, screening, interviews, offer letters).
· Support the company onboarding process
· Act as resource to employees on company policies and practices.
· HR support for managers and staff
· Prepare HR Documentation regarding employee issues
· Service Award tracking
· Recommend and plan activities to support a positive corporate culture.
Tax Compliance:
· Ensure local Sales Tax compliance
· File Tax Returns for each jurisdiction
Accounting Administration:
· Prepare accounting reports for the General Manager and Leadership Team
· Job cost auditing and reporting
· Process cheques for Accounts Payable
· Act as local contact for vendors
· Provide backup to Accounts Receivable function
· Oversee company credit cards
Office Administration:
· Vehicle registration, insurance
· License renewals (Contractor’s license, bonds. Etc.)
· Purchase office supplies, cleaning supplies, showroom supplies.
· Oversee Office/Showroom Cleaning
· Act as contact person for IT (hardware and networking )
· Answer phones and open and distribute mail
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices as the relate to the Affinity business
· Basic understanding of payroll principles and legislation
· Ability to provide general Human Resources guidance
· Strong computer knowledge to be able to provide financial reporting
· Attention to detail
· Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
· Follows through on commitments and meets deadlines
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Capable of taking initiative and sorting out unknown tasks
The preferred candidate will have:
· At least three years of progressively responsible experience in general accounting support
· At least three years of experience in a Human Resources role
· Training/experience in payroll policy and process
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday.
