The Nelson Lau lab in the Dept of Biochemistry BOSTON UNIVERSITY is recruiting a graduating PhD scientist in the molecular biology and biochemistry field jazzed to study RNAi gene silencing of Viruses and Transposons in Mosquito and Drosophila cells.
PLEASE SPECIFY YOUR SKILLS AND INTERESTS IN VIROLOGY AND MODEL ORGANISMS BIOLOGY. Genomics and deep sequencing experience will also be a plus. Candidates should send a CV, list of publications, and arrange for three recommendation letters to be sent to "nclau" at "bu" dot "edu".
Our group studies basic gene regulation mechanisms by small RNAs and the RNA interference pathway in model organisms. Specifically, we are interested in dissecting the molecular mechanisms of RNAi in the control of Viruses and Transposons during animal aging and brain function and mosquito infection.
Every capable trainee coming through the Lau lab has authored scientific papers, a testament to our lab's commitment to rigorous academic research training. Many Lau lab members have then gone onwards to other industry and academic positions. APPLY AND SEE!
