The Building Engineer is responsible for all day-to-day maintenance and repairs for our corporate office building and grounds in Oak Brook, IL.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and replacements, for corporate office property.
- Monitor facilities software and building automation systems to provide a safe and comfortable workplace for employees and visitors.
- Perform administrative duties including requisitions, invoice processing, and vendor contract reviews.
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.
- Be on call 24/7/365 for emergency maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building systems and components, including, but not limited to, the below items. Self-perform maintenance and basic repairs to the greatest extent possible, minimizing usage of outside vendors.
- Interior and exterior lighting, including bulbs, ballasts, and drivers.
- Plumbing systems including sump pumps, sinks, drains, drain lines, faucets, water & ice machines, refrigerators, flush valves, aerators, vacuum breakers, soap dispensers, drinking fountains, hot water valves and drain lines.
HVAC, RTU* 's, thermostats, VAV, thermostats, sump cleaning, motor & pump inspection, water testing, chemical system maintenance, dosing pumps, actuators and dampers.
- Boilers pumps and frequency drives.
- Doors, door hardware, locksets, card readers, and furniture.
- Rainwater recycle systems.
- Roos, drains, hatches.
- Electrical systems and fire panels.
- Spec and bid review.
- Manage building systems to maintain LEED certification.
- Oversee contractors and vendors.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of five years related experience.
- Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of MEP building systems.
- Verified mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
