Provides clerical and administrative support to the Human Services Department to ensure the office and programs operate efficiently.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma plus three (3) years of clerical experience in a computerized environment.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of general customer service principles and practices.
Proficiency in the operation of a personal computer and the use of software such as Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software as required by division.
Proven ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public, clients, and professionals.
Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
Demonstrated ability to make computations, maintain confidential client and financial records and prepare financial reports.
Proven ability to make routine decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations and departmental policies and procedures and to maintain confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work in accordance with established rules, regulations and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides first line customer service for human service requests from walk-ins and callers. Schedules appointments, resolves problems and provides referrals as needed.
Prepares, organizes and maintains Human Services documents, files, spreadsheets, reports, and correspondence.
Prepares and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
Enters data into industry-specific software, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
Assists with the completion of the application process for assigned programs by utilizing industry specific systems/portals.
Maintains and updates records as required by the state agency or community organization.
Maintains inventory of office supplies and equipment.
Collects and processes cash related to department or division transactions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supports Town policies and philosophies.
