The position of Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer at Bison Rail Systems involves designing, implementing, testing, and commissioning RF infrastructure. The RF Engineer is responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining wireless communication equipment and systems. The RF Engineer is required to troubleshoot any problems that may arise with the equipment. In addition, the RF Engineer is responsible for conducting research to develop new and improved wireless communication technologies.

Design, develop, and implement RF engineering solutions for wireless communication systems.
- Conduct research and feasibility studies to identify new RF engineering technologies and solutions.
- Develop detailed designs for RF components, subsystems, and systems.
- Perform simulations and analyses to verify the performance of RF designs against requirements.
- Generate reports documenting the results of RF engineering investigations, tests, and evaluations.
- Support the development and execution of test plans to validate RF designs in lab and field environments.
- Identify issues with existing RF designs and recommend improvements or alternative solutions.
- Design, configure, and implement RF infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot RF issues, analyze root causes, and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Implement network policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security standards and industry regulations.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in network engineering.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on RF-related topics.
- Collaborate with IT, Test and Commissioning, and other key departments.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience with RF engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with designing and optimizing RF circuits for performance and manufacturability.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with RF design tools and software (e.g., Agilent ADS, Keysight Genesys).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex RF systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve RF issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively and intelligently in person, via telephone, and in writing.
- Ability to work independently as well as deal effectively with others and establish working relationships among team members.
- Ability to identify and evaluate existing and potential problems and develop recommendations and courses of action to resolve the issues with the appropriate follow-up.
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements
- Remaining in a stationary position, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

- Must be able to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, and hearing protection, as required.
