You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance, quality control and inspection of production manufacturing operations for specialty chemicals manufacturing at our Columbus, GA facility. You will:
- Manage the site Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance with customer, ISO 9001, local, state and federal requirements and assure that it is continually reviewed and improved.
- Manage the internal audit system, assure timely completion of audits and submit findings and corrective action requests to management. Represent the organization in external and customer audits and coordinate audit finding responses.
- Provide oversight, development and training of the Quality department team members. Develop goals for the Quality department based on company objectives and ensure achievement.
- Assure monthly metric data entry and review. Evaluate current data and trends in order to suggest improvement ideas or corrective action activities to be worked on.
- Champion scrap reduction efforts as a collaborative effort with other departments.
- Monitor and track customer complaints, spearhead root-cause analysis and corrective action development to address product quality related issues.
- Annually prepare the department budget and track progress monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred), with 5 or more years experience working as a Quality Manager.
- Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Knowledge of QMS programs and experience in application of ISO 9001 requirements. Experience in SAP QM module a plus.
- Ability to work closely with all departments and functions to achieve Quality goals.
- Ability to manage, train, teach and mentor Quality team members.
- Ability to define, drive and implement change.
- Strong independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
