JOB TITLE: PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
LOCATION: Parkchester
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Accounts Payable
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Property Accountant reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for the coding of invoices into the accounting system, generating and issuing accounts payable checks, and performing other duties relative to the upkeep of the general ledger. Duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monthly General Ledger closing
· Generate accounts payable checks
· Accounts Payable processing payment of vendor invoices, utility bills, and vendor payments.
· Posting weekly payroll to Yardi System
· Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
· Serving as liaison with vendors and unions to resolve accounts payable related concerns
· Preparation of GL account reconciliation schedules and checklists to ensure that all transactions are properly accounted for.
· Prepare and enter journal entries for posting to General Ledger
· Facilitate month end close process including Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliation
· Preparation of monthly financial reporting package
· Assisting with items such as creating budgets and preparing for audits.
· Researching and preparing spreadsheet reports as necessary
· Performing other duties and tasks on an as needed basis as assigned by the Controller.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP)
- Experience with Yardi Property Management Software a plus
- Real estate industry experience a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
