Position Overview
GSG is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with successful project experience in ensuring the effective execution of design services. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis for various types of improvements.
- Hydraulic and Hydrologic reports.
- Stormwater Detention; evaluate and implement stormwater management strategies.
- Floodplain Modeling.
- Creating and reviewing technical specifications.
- Preparing cost estimates of construction projects.
- Developing reports, technical memos, and design studies.
Required Qualifications
- Illinois-Licensed Professional Engineer
- Registered as a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Proficient with Hydraulic Modeling software
- Experienced with drainage projects
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- State, County, and Municipal experience
- Knowledge of IDOT design standards, procedures, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Sediment and Erosion Control experience
- SWPP Plans
- Permitting
- Experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Proficient with MicroStation OpenRoads software
