Associates Degree in Business Administration and Management, Humanities/Humanistic Studies, or Liberal Arts and Sciences or (5) five years administrative experience in a customer service or human services environment or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must obtain certification from Texas Veterans Commission within one year of employment
Experience working with Veteran and Military population
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to assess, develop, balance and prioritize competing priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism; strong ability to provide a positive customer service experience; skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing; skills to effectively communicate with and support a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds, including an understanding and respect for cultural, ethnic and individual differences
Demonstrated ability to utilize critical analysis, resourcefulness, and creativity in drafting, recommending and researching policies and utilizing skill and application of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Access, PowerPoint, Outlook); demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of visibility with members and contact with responsible representatives of the command, special interest groups, local community officials, civic organizations and other public and private officials; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, outside organizations and the public
Demonstrates technological intuitiveness
Must have valid driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
May be required to work weekends
May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
