NATURE OF WORK
This is a part-time internship within the City Manager’s Office that provides an opportunity to work alongside the City's leadership to gain practical work experience in a local government setting, including economic development. This is a temporary position for up to one-year, which is intended to provide City staff assistance with government administration, research, marketing, community programs, and community/business outreach. Responsibilities require contact with the general public, business owners, and the executive leadership team, which is an important element of this assignment. The internship is intended to provide hands-on experience in special projects to expand the knowledge of various aspects of public administration including the day-to-day functions of the City Manager’s Office, economic development, marketing, and community engagement. Duties may also require the employee to be available for morning hours, evenings and/or weekends. The Intern may also work in collaboration with other departments on a project basis, as required.
Part-time, paid Internship or "for credit" Internship:
Up to 26 hours per week-
Paid internship rate is $15 per hour
