Thomas Solutions Incorporated is seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Communications Specialist and Communication Assistant to provide high-quality content creation, strategic communications services, and conferencing support to the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Office of Justice Programs’ (OJP) stakeholders and audiences nationwide.
The position is in Alexandria, Virginia at contractor site.

Strategic Communications Specialist
Job Summary
Assists the Office of Communication (OCOM) in maximizing strategies and tactics with measurable impact. Supports OCOM activities to include the strategic communications plan tracking and execution, the Strategic Communications Working Group and other agency-wide projects and initiatives that increase collaboration and efficiency across OCOM divisions and OJP program and business offices. Provides strategic and tactical communications advice to support required key initiatives and priorities.
Experience:
- Five years of professional experience managing strategic communications resources with an emphasis in supporting government and public sector communications activities.
- Experience in strategic planning, audience identification, engagement and assessment with measurable impact.
- Experience in managing projects that are cross-cutting across various stakeholders with specific results and deadlines.
- Must demonstrate superior oral and writing skills as well as outstanding project management abilities.
Education Level:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing from an accredited college or university and
- Five years of related experience (or, alternatively, master’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing and three years of related experience).
Position: Communications Assistant
Job Summary
NIJ requires a communications assistant to copyedit and proofread a range of materials; coordinate and assemble materials for listings, summaries, and printing requisitions; track projects on SharePoint.
assemble and format data in response to calls for information.
support NIJ-hosted webinars; and provide other communications support tasks as needed.
Requirements: To be successful in this role you must meet the following:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience Level:
- Three years of direct relevant work experience
