We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the structural design and analysis of grain elevators and storage facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical engineering projects, from conceptual design through construction. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in the grain storage industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Mechanical design and analysis of grain handling facilities to include silos, support structures, and material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Develop detailed Mechanical engineering plans, specifications, and calculations for grain elevator projects.
- Conduct structural and analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical designs with overall project requirements.
- Review and approve drawings, plans, and specifications prepared by junior staff or external consultants.
- Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing mechanical systems and provide recommendations for repair, renovation, or maintenance.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and budgets.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as needed to address technical issues and ensure project success.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and construction techniques to continually improve design practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license desired.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, with a focus on grain elevator design, construction, or bulk material handling.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and codes, including ACI, ASCE, AISC, and relevant OSHA regulations.
- Excellent leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
