Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general animal care. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take X-rays and develop them for diagnostic purposes
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Monitor vital signs of animals under anesthesia
- Maintain accurate medical records of patients
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Clean and maintain veterinary equipment and work areas
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of equine care and handling is a plus
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and animal husbandry practices
- Proficiency in performing animal catheterization and aseptic techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively
